About Department
The Department of Nanoscience and Technology (CNST) has offered postgraduate (M.Tech.) degree since 2009 and also offers Ph.D. Programme with Institution Research Fellowship – IRF (20,000/- Per Month). The NST aims to provide a platform for young minds of students to understand the basic concepts of material properties at the nanoscale. M.Tech programme is accompanied by science, engineering, and technology to ensure real-time applications by exploring the fundamental structure of nanoscale-quantum phenomenon. This programme collectively deals with cutting-edge research and innovations in the multidisciplinary field, and focuses on ongoing thrust research activities. CNST continuously updates the innovation in science and technology for young researchers, scientists, innovators, entrepreneurs, and students. The CNST has state-of-the-art research facilities, namely AFM, nanoindentation, micro-Vickers hardness, spray pyrolysis, FTIR, UV, and PL spectroscopy, BET-surface area, XRF, Particle size analyzer, contact angle measurement, DC-sputtering. EIS spectroscopy, etc. CNST has a team of faculty, researchers, and students working together to bring innovation in interdisciplinary domain. Our management is keen to bring Centre for Nano Science and Technology (CNST) as a world-class research centre to take up challenging research work in the nano valley for the benefit of society. The department has academic and industrial collaboration with various national and international universities, research centres, and industries.

I have completed a Ph.D. in nanotechnology at Anna University, Chennai. Over the past ten years, I have been working in the solid-state chemistry of nanomaterials and the mass production of various metal oxide nanocomposites from natural minerals and chemical precursors through hot air spray pyrolysis techniques for different structural engineering applications. I have developed novel nanostructured silicate-based thermal barrier coatings (TBCs) on stainless steel (SS 314 L) using Al2O3/ZrO2 and Al2O-(Y2O3)/ZrO2 nanometal oxide composites. My current research activities are focused on effluent wastewater treatment and supercapacitor electrode materials in clean energy technologies. To my credit, I have published 42 research articles with an average impact factor of 3.7 and am a recipient of the CSIR-SRF (Senior Research Fellowship). Guiding two PhD research scholars full-time.

I have completed two Doctorate of Philosophy in Education and Physics in Dravidan University and Anna University, Chennai respectively. I have more than 25 years of experience in teaching and my field of research interest belongs to antibacterial studies and photo degradation of materials. I have more than published 16 papers in international journals and international conferences. Now working in the field of exploration of various nanoparticles and their antimicrobial applications.

Mr. G. Devanand completed his undergraduate studies at KSRCT in 2001 and pursued his postgraduate degree at SSM College of Engineering in 2007. With 20 years of experience in teaching and research, he has contributed significantly to academia. He has published 6 papers in international and national journals and presented research papers at various international and national conferences, totaling 10. Mr. Devanand specializes in fiber science, characterization of textile fibers, garment manufacturing, and documentation. His expertise in these areas highlights his dedication to advancing knowledge in the field of textiles.

During my tenure in SSMCE, I have been working with different cadres till June 2021.During the period I contributed myself for the growth of the students, Department and College with Various roles and Responsibilities. I have joined as Assistant Professor in KSRCT, Textile Technology department on July 2021.Since then I am perusing my career with various roles and responsibilities as an academician. Dr. KR Nandagopal has 15 years of industrial experience in the fields of spinning, fabric manufacturing, and technical textiles. Alongside, he has 10 years of teaching and research experience. He completed his undergraduate degree at PSG College of Technology, Coimbatore, and his postgraduate degree at SSM College of Engineering in 2015, where he received a gold medal from Anna University, Chennai, for his outstanding performance in M.Tech examinations. Dr. Nandagopal is a multidisciplinary engineer; he completed AMIE in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Structural Analysis and AMIE in Mechanical Engineering with a specialization in Thermal Science and Engineering at the IEI Regional Centre, PSG College of Technology, Coimbatore. He received the Chartered Engineer Certification from the Institution of Engineers India. He has published 6 papers in international and national journals and has presented his research work at 16 international conferences and 5 national conferences.

Mr.A.S.Subburaayasaran M.Tech (Ph.D.) After completed my B.Tech Textile Technology at Bapuji Institute of Engineering and Technology, Davangere, Karnataka in the year 1995 and Master of Business Administration (MBA) at K.S.Rangasamy college of Technology, Tiruchengode in the year 1999, started my career as Lecturer in the Department of Textile Technology at J.K.K.Polytechnic College, Gobichettipalayam from 2004 – 2005 and Worked as a lecturer in the Department of Textile Technology, K.S.Rangasamy Institute of Technology from the year 2005 – 2007. Completed M.Tech Textile Technology Degree from Jaya Engineering College, Chennai in the year 2009. Registered Ph.D. in Visvesvaraya Technological University in the year 2022. Responsibilities. Joined as Assistant Professor in the Department of Textile Technology, K.S.Rangasamy College of Technology from 2010.

My professional journey began in earnest with a role as a Trainer at Technopak Advisors Pvt. Ltd., Tiruppur, where I contributed from February 2014 to January 2015, focusing on training development. This was followed by a significant tenure as a Merchandiser at Mars Imbex, Tiruppur, from June 2013 to February 2014, enhancing my industry insights and buyer-supplier relations and also academic path set in institutions like Angel College of Engineering and Technology, Saradar Vallabhbhai Patel International school of Textile and Bannari Amman Institution of Technology until 2023.
