About Department
Chemistry department serves as a vital component in the education and training of future engineers, providing them with a strong foundation in Chemistry principles and preparing them to tackle real-world engineering challenges. The department provides resources and support for students interested in pursuing careers in various industries or furthering their education through graduate studies. The interdisciplinary approach fosters innovation and allows students and faculty to tackle complex problems that require expertise from multiple disciplines. The department is equipped with laboratory facilities where students conduct experiments to reinforce theoretical concepts learned in lectures. These labs provide hands-on experience with chemical processes, instrumentation, and analytical techniques. Safety protocols are strictly enforced to ensure the well-being of students and staff. Chemistry department actively engage in research activities, exploring areas such as materials science, environmental chemistry, nanotechnology, and renewable energy. Students often have the opportunity to participate in research projects under the guidance of faculty mentors, gaining valuable research experience and contributing to advancements in the field.Both part time and full time students are working in research activities.

Dr. Sukantha T A is a Professor in the Department of Chemistry in K S Rangasamy College of Technology, Tiruchengode, Tamil Nadu, India. She received Ph.D. degree in Chemistry from Avinashilingam University in the year 2013.Her tenure of service for 17.6years in K S Rangasamy College of Technology and 11 years in Sengunthar Arts and Science College has honed her skills in teaching, research, social service and administration. Her research interests span a hybrid platform of theoretical and experimental approaches to study the diverse applications of Nanotechnology in drug development, composites, wastewater treatment, food packaging materials, sensors and energy storage devices as well as specialized in Phytochemistry & Phytotheraphy. She serves as a reviewer, editorial member and member in reputed journals. She has published more than 20 papers in international journals and conferences. She has filed one patent for anti-diabetic herbal formulation. She is currently working with a research group focusing on sustainable and eco-friendly materials for various industrial applications. She has authored one book and 4 book chapters. She is an active member of Eco care club to focus on SDG for the environment

Dr.R.Palanivelu is a Professor in the Department of Chemistry, K.S.Rangasamy College of Technology. He has received his M.Sc, M.Phil and Ph.D degree from Bharathiar University, Bharathidasan university and Anna University respectively. He has granted two Indian patents and completed one DRDO (4.98 lakhs) project. He has published 14 papers in International Journals, 6 papers in international conferences and authored 5 books. He is an active member of ISTE.

She has received her M.Sc degree from Madras University and M.Phil degree from Bharathiar University. She completed her Ph.D degree from Periyar University, salem. Her areas of Research include Analytical Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Nano Chemistry for potential applications for the development of students community and the society. She has a teaching experience of 28 years.She has published various research papers in referred Journals and Book Chapters. She has published three books which are very useful for Engineering and Science students. She has participated and presented papers in International and National Conferences/ workshops and Seminars. She is a lifetime member in Indian Chemical Society (ICS) and Indian Society of Technical Education (ISTE).

Dr. S. Meenachi is a dedicated Associate professor with a proven track record of over 18 years in the field of academia. Her expertise lies in wastewater treatment, organic chemistry, and environmental research. Dr.S.Meenachi holds a Ph.D. in Wastewater Treatment from Anna University, where she has also completed an M.Phil in Organic Chemistry and holds a master's and bachelor's degree in Chemistry, both with outstanding academic achievements. Throughout her career, Dr. Meenachi has held various academic positions at various engineering institutions. She has supervised multiple research projects and guided numerous scholars pursuing Ph.D. and undergraduate studies. Apart from her academic endeavors, Dr. Meenachi is actively involved in various professional bodies and committees. She is a member of esteemed organizations such as the Institute for Engineering Research and Publication (IFERP), International Association for Academic plus Corporate (IAAC), and International Association of Engineers (IAENG), among others. She has participated in numerous seminars, workshops, Faculty development programmes, and conferences, presenting her research findings and sharing her knowledge with peers. Additionally, she has authored 19 publications in reputed national and international journals and holds multiple patents in the field of environmental science and engineering. She has completed several programs aimed at enhancing teaching methodologies and curriculum design, reflecting her commitment to continuous learning and professional growth. Dr.M.Tamilvanan is an Associate Professor in the Department of Chemistry, K.S.Rangasamy College of Technology. He has received his M.Sc and Ph.D degree from Bharathiar University and Anna University respectively. He completed his post-doctoral research work at Pusan National University, South Korea and University of Rome, Tor Vergata, Italy. His research interests include Batteries, Supercapacitors, Polymer Electrolyte Membrane Fuel Cell (PEMFCs) and photopolymers. He is currently working with a research group focusing on supercapacitors and fuel cells. He has published various papers in International refereed Journals and authored 1 book chapter. He is an active member of ISTE.

Mr.K Tamilarasu is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemistry at K.S. Rangasamy College of Technology. Dr. Satheeshkumar R is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemistry at K.S. Rangasamy College of Technology, Tiruchengode, Tamil Nadu, India. He received his PhD degree in chemistry full-time from Bharathiar University, Coimbatore, in 2017. He has international postdoctoral experience in Chile, Taiwan, China, and the USA. I have accumulated extensive expertise in synthetic organic chemistry to serve medicinal chemistry investigations within several research projects, enabling me to contribute to 40 SCI research papers in leading chemistry journals. He has joined as an editorial board member for Scientific Reports, PLOS One, and BMC Molecular Cell Biology. This allows him to be constantly involved with innovative thinking, handling, and reviewing research manuscripts. In his scientific career, he has been awarded two individual fellowships from national and international funding agencies, such as the Fondecyt-Conicyt Principal Investigator of Postdoctoral Research individual project (N˚3190292) awarded by ANID-FONDECYT (Chile) for three years (2019-2022) and the University Grants Commission (India) fellowship under the Basic Scientific Research (UGC- BSR-RFSMS-JRF and SRF) program from 2013-2016. In January 2025, he received a grant from the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC Collaboration Researchers Grants scheme, ₤5000GBP) to support a 6-month visit to King's College London (UK)..
